Sevak Avakians is AI Principal at USAA and the creator of GAIuS, a deterministic, fully explainable ML approach and the first certifiable under FAA DO-178C for civil aviation. He founded Intelligent Artifacts in 2009 and exited after growing it to a $100M valuation. He is now building KATO, a framework for regulated industries. His work argues that black-box systems cannot meet the demands of environments where lives and livelihoods are at stake.
